Common errors

The errors people hit most, with the fix for each. Search this page for the text in your console or F8.

#Couldn't start resource c3r: oxmysql

c3r won't start without oxmysql. Install oxmysql, set mysql_connection_string in server.cfg, and make sure ensure oxmysql comes before ensure [c3r_core].

#Nothing happens when I press Left Shift or F11

• Off duty. Most keys only work on duty. Press F11 (or type /duty) and pick Police.
• Not in a police car. Left Shift only shows the circle from an emergency vehicle.
• Keybinds were changed. FiveM saves each player's keys the first time they join. If you changed a key in the config after that, existing players keep the old one: they rebind it in Settings → Key Bindings → FiveM. New players get your new default.

#I changed a key in the config and nothing changed

Same cause as above: keybinds are stored per player on first join. The config only sets the default for people who haven't joined yet. Ask players to rebind it themselves under Settings → Key Bindings → FiveM, or tell them which key to use.

#The car won't pull over

• Is the red circle actually on the car? Steer so the car's centre is inside it, then turn on lights, siren, or tap the horn.
• Some drivers don't stop at all: a warrant or a stolen car can run, and you're in a pursuit. That's on purpose; see traffic stops.

#Voice dispatch doesn't hear me

See voice dispatch common issues. The usual causes are the wrong microphone picked in /control, the H key bound to something else, or WebAssembly blocked on that player's PC.

#The first join takes ages

Voice dispatch's speech model and voice clips are about 210 MB and download once per player. Later joins are quick, and code updates don't make players download it again.

#The resource folder was renamed

The resources call each other by name (c3r, lwk_control, lwk_mdt...). Keep every folder name exactly as the wizard wrote it.
