MDT

Overview

lwk_mdt is the MDT for CODE3RESPONSE. It keeps an encounter log: every traffic stop, pursuit, callout and field contact becomes an incident, and when it ends, it's waiting for you as a draft report with the narrative already written. Pick the charges and sign. No framework and no login: if you're on duty, you can use it.

Opening it

Press F7 or type /mdt. On duty it's the CAD; off duty it's the Citizen Portal. Say "open the computer" to voice dispatch to open it hands free.

The first time you open the CAD after joining, it asks for your callsign. It's remembered between sessions, and voice dispatch uses it too.

The screen

It's laid out like a desktop CAD message centre: a toolbar with keyboard shortcuts, black data grids, and a status bar with your status, time on status, active call and clock. Click a row to select it; double-click or press Enter to open it.

Home board

The top grid lists live calls: stops, pursuits, callouts and contacts still in progress, with call number, nature, location, zone, priority, status, age and unit. A call leaves the grid when it closes; its report is under Reports and Drafts.

PriorityCall
1Pursuit
2Callout
3Traffic stop
4Field contact

The bottom grid lists every on-duty unit and its status, worked out from its open incident and last 10-code:

StatusMeans
AVLAvailable
ENRTEn route to a call
ONSCOn scene
STOPOn a traffic stop
PURSIn a pursuit
CNTCOn a field contact
BUSY10-6

It refreshes every 5 seconds.

One box handles names and plates: smith, john smi, 4abc 123. It searches everyone and everything any officer has met, newest first. A record shows its flags (warrant, stolen, BOLO, licence, insurance) and its prior contacts: every incident that person or vehicle was part of, by any officer. c3r keeps its population, so repeat offenders build up a history. A person is matched by name and date of birth.

With voice dispatch

  • Radio on the timeline. Unit requests, backup, traffic holds, 10-codes, code 4 and 10-99 are added to the open incident. Plate and name checks are logged with their result: "Plate check 4ABC123: STOLEN".
  • Voice fills the screen. After a plate or name check over the radio, the record opens in the MDT, now or the next time you open it.
  • Voice commands. "Open the computer"; "write it up", "start a report" or "start a citation" opens the report for your current incident.
  • Status bar buttons run dispatch commands (Tow, EMS, Transport, Coroner, Hold / Release traffic, 10-8, 10-97), and dispatch answers by voice. A button skips the "affirmative?" prompt.
  • 10-8 and code 4 also clear you from your call, even if c3r still thinks the stop is running. So does signing the call's report.

Without voice dispatch the MDT still logs c3r's stops, callouts and contacts.

Each officer picks their own in Settings (the gear button, or Tools):

Storage

Records live in SQL (lwk_mdt_people, lwk_mdt_vehicles, lwk_mdt_incidents, lwk_mdt_meta), written every 5 seconds. Tables are created on first start. On start, anything older than Config.KeepDays (60) is deleted, and so are the oldest incidents beyond Config.MaxIncidents (5000).

/mdtexport (server console or a supervisor) writes every record to lwk_mdt/export.json. Back up your database as usual for everything else.
